OSHA 500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction | 4 day course

This course is designed for personnel interested in teaching the 10- and 30-hour Construction Safety and Health Outreach Program to their employees or other interested groups.  Participants will be briefed on instructional approaches and the effective use of visual aids and handouts.  In addition, the following areas will be covered:  most frequently cited standards and multiemployer worksite policy; rigging, cranes, scaffolds, electrical, fall protection, motor vehicles, concrete and masonry, excavations, stairways and ladders, steel erection, demolition, hazard communications, health hazards, fire protection, confined space, welding and cutting.  

Prerequisites: Course #510 or equivalent and five years of construction safety experience. NOTE: Students in Course #500 who wish to participate as authorized trainers in the Outreach Program must successfully pass a written exam at the end of the course. Outreach trainers are required to attend Course #502 at least once every four years to maintain their trainer status.

OSHA 501 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry | 4 day course

This course is designed for personnel in the private industry interested in teaching the 10- and 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health Outreach Program to their employees and other interested groups. This course includes an introduction to OSHA's General Industry Standards and an overview of the most frequently cited standards.  In addition, the following will be covered:  bloodborne pathogens and needlestick prevention, electrical standards and safety, walking and working surfaces, welding, Hazwoper and hazard communication, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, lockout/tagout, material handling, machine guarding, fire protection, noise and ear protection, protective equipment, recordkeeping, and safety training techniques. 

NOTE: Students in Course #501 who wish to participate as authorized trainers in the Outreach Program must successfully pass a written exam at the end of the course. Outreach trainers are required to attend Course #503 at least once every four years to maintain their trainer status.

OSHA 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry |4 day course

Construction professionals at every level will benefit from this comprehensive introductory course as they apply OSHA policies, standards, and procedures to construction safety and health.  Participants will be able to identify the most common hazards found on construction sites, locate the correct standard in 29 CFR 1926, and discuss various construction processes, materials, and equipment.  Participants will receive the 30-hour card upon course completion.  The following topics will be covered:  recordkeeping, hazard communication, welding, fire prevention, electrical safety, scaffolds, fall protection, concrete, signs and barricades, ladders, stairways, cranes, rigging, hand and portable tools, excavation, trenching, confined space entry, and personal protective equipment. Bring a current copy of OSHA construction regulations 29 CFR 1926 to the class.

OSHA 2250 Principles of Ergonomics Applied to Work-Related Musculoskeletal and Nerve Disorders | 3 day course

Ergonomics principles as they apply to the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders through proper design of work stations and work activities will be addressed.  Topics include work physiology, anthropometry, musculoskeletal disorders, use of video display terminals and risk factors such as vibration, temperature, material handling, repetition, and lifting. 

Prerequisites: OSHA Federal and State Compliance Officers: Course #1000. 21(d) State Consultants: Computer-based program, "Basic Onsite Consultation." Safety personnel: Course #1210. Other Federal Agency or Department personnel: Course#6000, #6010 or equivalent. Private Sector and Other Non-Federal Government personnel: Course #501, #510, or equivalent.

OSHA 3095 Electrical Standards | 4 day course

This shortened version of #3090 is designed to provide the student with a survey of OSHA's electrical standards and the hazards associated with electrical installations and equipment. Topics include single- and three-phase systems, cord- and plug-connected and fixed equipment, grounding, ground fault circuit interrupters, and safety-related work practices. Emphasis is placed on electrical hazard recognition and OSHA policies and procedures. Students will receive instruction on safe and correct use of their electrical testing equipment. Prerequisites: All OSHA personnel must have completed Course #2030 or have equivalent training or experience. Other Federal Agency or Department personnel: Course #2005, #6000, or #6010 or equivalent. This course is available to noncompliance personnel only.
